Governance at The Oakwood Academy

The Interim Advisory Board provides strategic direction for The Oakwood Academy and helps drive improvements in standards, by:

• Setting targets
• Setting policies to achieve the targets
• Monitoring results

Much of the work is carried out directly by the Interim Advisory Board.

The Board also are involved concerning the Academy's finances, staffing and premises. Governors have a link role in the areas of Safeguarding, Curriculum, Teaching & Learning and Data Usage.

Each year we elect a Chair and Vice Chair of the Advisory Board. They are supported in their work by a Clerk to the Governors who advises on points of procedure and law and minutes meetings.
