Important message to Year 11 parents and students (11/06/24)

    Morning all

As we approach the last week of the exams and your time at Oakwood, I have a few important announcements/ reminders -

Although there are very few exams on Wednesday and Thursday, full attendance is still expected at school for all lessons - ensure you bring some revision for the lessons where your exams are completed.

On Wednesday, all students will receive their leavers hoodies (if purchased) at the end of Period 5. Students may wear these for school on Thursday instead of their blazer (still need correct footwear, skirt/ trousers and shirt underneath). If you haven't purchased a hoodie, then full uniform please.

On Thursday there will be regular lessons P1-3. All students must go to English at the start of Period 4 as normal to gain their school attendance afternoon mark. They will be brought to their leavers' assembly P4 by their teacher where they will have a chance to take photos and sign shirts etc. The assembly will be completed by 2pm and all students will be off site by 2:15pm.

On Friday we have two big exams. All students who study Geography will be invited to a booster session at 8am and all Geography students must be on site by 8:30am for the subject briefing in the bleachers at the latest. All students must be in regular uniform for their exam (not their hoodie).

All other students must be on site for break (10:45am) in full uniform. All students will attend P3 as normal before their final Science exam in the afternoon.

We have our final exams taking place next week. Students only need to attend the exams (no lessons taking place). For these exams, students still need to be in full school uniform.

Tuesday AM - DT. Booster session at 8am, subject briefing at 8:30am.

Wednesday AM - Food. Booster session at 8am, subject briefing at 8:30am.

Finally, any donations of uniform, PE kit, bags and old revision guides/text books (good condition) will be appreciated to support families in the community. Please drop off any items to main reception once you have finished with them.

Parent/ Carers - thank you for your ongoing support

Students - good luck for your final exams - keep working hard and enjoy your final few days at Oakwood.

    Mr Gilbert
