Buildings Update

Building work update 16^th October 2026

The work to remove the brickwork on the core block has started and over the October half term break will be completed with the first of the replacement metal cladding being installed. We hope that the work on the core block will be fully completed by the end of November/ early December. Although the library is still fully operational, some of the library lessons have and will continue to be re-roomed whilst some of this work is taking place.

In addition the first two blocks of the temporary classrooms at the front of school have been delivered with the final unit also coming over half term. They will then be fully fitted, connected to power and internet and filled with furniture ready for first use around January when the construction moves onto the main teaching blocks.

Buildings Update - 24/09/26

Today we shared an update to all staff and students on the buildings work via a live virtual assembly delivered by the building contractors overseeing the work.

We discussed what will be happening, why, when and important safety information whilst the work is taking place.

Work on the site will commence from 4^th October with the initial work being focussed on the main block at the front of school. 

The temporary classrooms will also be appearing on site during October ready for when they will be used from January 2027 when the build work moves to the main teaching blocks. 

Building Maintenance UPDATE - 11/09/26

You may have noticed the changing appearance at the front of the site where contractors have been laying foundations. In October we will have three blocks of temporary classrooms built which will host lessons why building repairs are taking place. 

The plan for the repairs are as follows (estimated dates) 

• October - repairs to the main Core Block of the school

• January - repairs to A Block - English lessons will be relocated to the temporary classrooms

• May - repairs to B Block - Humanities and Languages lessons will be relocated to the temporary classrooms

• August - repairs to C Block/ Sports hall - Maths lessons will be relocated to the temporary classrooms

All repairs are expected to be completed by January 2028.

The temporary classrooms are being used to ensure there is no impact on Teaching and Learning whilst the repairs to the exterior of the building are taking place and that the site remains safe for all students and staff. 

All students will have an assembly over the next couple of weeks to talk about the work that is taking place.
