Student Mobile Phone Use

Student use of mobile phones on site

Whilst we appreciate that most students may possess a mobile phone and parents may encourage them to bring them to school for emergency situations, digital travel cards etc., we are a NO mobile phone school. 

Whilst students are on site, mobile phones should be turned OFF and not seen or heard. 

If a mobile phone is seen or heard by any staff member, it will be confiscated and taken to main reception and stored safely until the end of the day, where it can be collected by the student. The student will also receive a negative behaviour point. Repeated offences will be tracked and may lead to a further sanction.

Mobile Phone Pouches: Important Information for Students and Parents

From September 2026, all students are required to use the school's mobile phone pouch system to support a focused and distraction-free learning environment.

• Students must lock their mobile phone in their pouch before arriving on site.

• Show their locked pouch to a member of staff at the gate on arrival.

• Keep the pouch in their bag throughout the school day.

• Bring their pouch to school every day and use it, even if they are not bringing a phone that day.

• If a student forgets their pouch, they will be required to borrow a pouch for the day, in the same way that they would borrow a piece of school uniform.

• If parents or carers need to contact their child during school hours, they should do so via Main Reception.

• Any phone seen on site during the school day will be confiscated. Parents or carers will be informed, and a sanction will be issued.

• Lost or damaged pouches will incur a replacement charge of £10.
