Why did they want to be a Governor at The Oakwood Academy?

I hope that as a Governor at The Oakwood Academy, I will have the opportunity to help shape the strategic direction of the school. This comes at both an exciting and crucial time for the school as our results begin to improve and our profile across the Redhill Trust strengthens. Most importantly, I look forward to representing the views of all stakeholders in order to maximize the potential of all our students.

What specific skills and expertise does this Governor bring to The Oakwood Academy?

Having taught at the school since 1999, I have become a familiar face and trustworthy member of both the staff and local community. I have established excellent relationships with families in the area and many of the communities’ key stakeholders, including local primary schools. I have over 17 years of teaching experience and leadership roles within the school, which has allowed me to develop a good level of understanding and empathy for many of the challenges our staff face.
