A welcome from the Director of Post-16 at The Redhill Academy

We are extremely proud of our Sixth Form. We have outstanding academic standards, excellent teaching and very high expectations of all our students. Last year for instance, 88% of Year 13 applied to go to university and all of them were successful in being offered a place. We always encourage our students to aim high and 50% of these students have continued on to top Russell Group universities.

The Sixth Form team consists of a Trust Director of Post 16, Head of Year 12, Head of Year 13 and a Sixth Form Administrator. Our job is to ensure that you leave Redhill reaching your full potential. You will also receive outstanding teaching and guidance, which will include your own dedicated Sixth Form Tutor. You will be closely monitored and supported to enable you to not only achieve excellent results, but to also grow into a person who will successfully take their place in society. The Redhill Academy Sixth Form is also driven by a desire to see students ‘aim high’ in life and, as such, actively encourages students to apply to university or advanced apprenticeship. We run a specially tailored and successful programme for students applying to Oxbridge or to study Medicine. We are thrilled that this year we have the largest number of students ever applying to Oxford and Cambridge and Medicine/Veterinary Medicine courses. We encourage all our Sixth Form students to become involved in the wider life of the school and we offer opportunities for students to become Senior Leaders, as well as mentors, fundraisers and Subject Ambassadors, all of which helps to produce well-rounded individuals ready to take on the world.

If you require any further information or would like a tour of the Sixth Form, please do not hesitate to contact us via the Sixth Form office. We look forward to meeting you all.

What do former students from The Oakwood Academy have to say about Redhill Sixth Form?

Redhill Academy Sixth Form

I would say that joining The Redhill Sixth Form was one of the best decisions I have ever made, as it was an incredible experience. Redhill gave me all of the correct support and skills required in order to get into one of the Russel Group Universities, which I am exceptionally grateful for. The staff were extremely friendly, academic and understanding and I could tell that they had a sheer passion for teaching. Sixth form gave me the opportunity to meet new people and create new memories which I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I believe that anyone can be successful by joining the Redhill Academy Sixth Form, as it has given me everything I need to shape my future.

Redhill Academy Sixth Form

Redhill has opened my eyes to a new depth of the subjects I once loved at GCSE and new subjects that I wouldn't have considered doing last year. At first I was skeptical of coming to Redhill Sixth Form because of how I would fit in and how life would be here, now I think to myself 'what was I thinking!' because I've found my missing piece to my puzzle by being here at Redhill and found some new friends for life. Studying 3 subjects at A-level sounds quite easy but it can be more challenging than studying 10 at GCSE's but it is so worth it because if you love the subjects then you develop a new found respect for them and your brilliant teachers. If you take away one thing from me, it's that Redhill has not only given me confidence in myself that I can go to University but I can do whatever I put my mind to.
