GCSE Results Day 2021

After another academic year of adversity, the class of 2021 has returned to The Oakwood Academy to receive their GCSE results. Amid intermittent lockdowns, social distancing and uncertainty, students have collected their results and stepped into the next chapters of their lives.

As examinations were unable to take place this year, teacher assessed grades (TAGs), have determined students’ results. TAGs use a range of evidence completed as part of each course to demonstrate a student’s performance on subject content. Nonetheless, students eagerly awaited their results.

Students are now heading to a range of school Sixth Forms and Colleges to study a range of academic and vocational qualifications or complete a range of apprenticeships. This includes our extended Sixth Form at The Oakwood Academy where we have an increased number of students moving into Year 12 to study either Level 3 Health and Social Care or Level 3 Sport.

We are delighted for our students after a traumatic end to their educational experience with us. Their efforts and hard work over the three years of GCSE study have been duly rewarded. We are all very proud of this wonderful group of individuals. I would also like to thank our highly skilled staff and supportive parents and families who have supported our students throughout this time.
